PRIDEFEST 2023 - Already Richmond

PRIDEFEST 2023

We were PROUD in Richmond this week at the rescheduled and remixed Virginia Pridefest. This year’s original Virginia Pride date was canceled because of the weather, but folks still came out for a day full of gay celebration and love.

Pridefest weekend is always special in Richmond. Coming together to celebrate the many different ways that we love each other and ourselves. VA pridefest embraces and elevates all identities and reminds our community how important it is to protect the human and civil rights of all Virginians. We can only accomplish this together and this year’s iconic headliner, Mya, reminded us of just that.

Mya, known for her 90s hits, roles in Milan Rouge!, and Chicago took the stage at PrideFest with an electrifying energy that was felt by all in attendance. With a dazzling array of costumes and a vibrant stage presence, she not only entertained but also sent a powerful message of love, acceptance, and unity. Mya's performance featured a mix of her chart-topping hits and anthems of empowerment that truly unified us all. Her sultry voice resonated throughout the venue, creating an atmosphere of celebration and inclusivity that VA PrideFest is known for. Mya has an unwavering commitment to using her platform to support the LGBTQ+ and her presence reinforced the importance of celebrating Pride.

Inspired by Mya’s song “Unbreakable”, we are introducing the ‘Be Unbreakable’ collection! The line features a tee and crop top that reminds us that we are Unbreakable in every way. Richmond is an Unbreakable city and that spirit is ever-present in our LGBTQ+ community. All proceeds from the sales of the ‘Be Unbreakable’ collection will be donated to a local nonprofit that supports and protects the rights of Richmond's LGBTQ+ community.
